Jonathan Tyler Giles, former youth minister at Spring Creek Baptist Church, was served an additional count of sexual abuse by an authority figure Tuesday when he appeared in Judge John H. Gasaway's courtroom.

Giles, 25, was arrested on June 24 on allegations he sent inappropriate text messages and engaged in sexual activities with minors. The new sealed count alleges Giles had sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl between May 8 and May 12 and used his status to accomplish the act.

Giles, who gave a Wartburg, Tenn., address, was booked in the Montgomery County Jail on Tuesday, but not held on additional bond.
